Horrific, horrible, unbelievable.

Colorado is in the news again, not for forest fires but a psychic horror, a murder of innocent people at a local movie theater.  As a lover of words there are no words to describe this but only to offer my pitiful words of condolence to all those who lost a son, a daughter, a wife, a husband, a child, a friend in the massacre.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Aurora, especially those whose lives have been profoundly changed by such a senseless and horrific act.

  2. There are things that happen that leave one at a loss for words but never at a loss for prayers. My prayers go up to God for the families who lost loved ones through this senseless act of violence.
Father, bring comfort to these distraught families this day and let them know that their loved ones are with you. Thank you Lord, Geoff.

  5. It is beyond words - that is most certain. My heart goes out to all those directly involved and further to those living in a part of the country that has had more than its share of devastating news...this really is incomprehensible.

    So sad.

  6. It is tragic and what's more so is that news like these have ceased to surprise us.

    1. So true. My grandson was at another theater watching the same movie at midnight as part of a birthday party he was attending. I remember that the Harry Potter movies were shown late at their openings. I wonder if the late night openings will continue.

  7. Thank you Lynn and Jenny: Now our papers are filled with images of the murderer and one wonders if notoriety was one of his goals.

  8. Thank you for your comment.

I was so shocked to read about this. You're right, there are no words. It's such a tragedy. When you say that one wonders if notoriety was one of his goals, I agree and am not sure what to think about the publicity that these sorts of people get after committing such terrible crimes. It seems so sad that he can continue to hurt people, even now that he's caught, by getting the notoriety that he desired and by everyone having to see images of him each day.

  9. Amen.

Let us hope that swift justice will prevail and he is given the death penalty.

  10. Yes, but with appeals, he will live another ten years, something he did not give his victims. I think we should call him Mr. X in the media and anything that is said about him, or any analysis, should not be publicized.
